Among the many privileges that accompany private membership at The Canyon Club is the extraordinary opportunity to play the 18-hole championship golf course that was the site of the Sunwest Bank Charley Pride Senior Golf Classic on the Champions Tour from 1986 to 1991. The Canyon Club is situated between the Sandia Mountains to the east and the Rio Grande River valley and the City of Albuquerque to the west. With its classic spiral design, the course provides golfers with stunning views of both the mountains and the City of Albuquerque.
The par-72 course, featuring mature tree-lined fairways, stretches from 5,659 to 6,767 yards. By current standards, these yardages may seem short, but there are several reasons why “Old Man Par” is tough to beat on this course! The course is situated on rolling terrain extending down from the Sandias, so virtually every approach shot has to be made from an uneven lie. The majority of the greens are elevated and all are well-bunkered. Moreover, even an expert putter can be befuddled by the “mountain effect” that makes reading the greens extremely difficult. Last, but not least, the seemingly ever-changing canyon winds are the “X-factor” adding to the difficulty of mastering the course.
Fun-loving staff are par for The Canyon Club, striving to make all of our members and their guests feel special and have a rewarding and memorable experience regardless of skill level. Whether it is occasionally combining a putting contest with the weekly half-price burger night, or organizing an afternoon shotgun event in conjunction with the weekly pasta night, the staff of The Canyon Club are all working together to produce enjoyable events for our members.
The Canyon Club offers multiple opportunities for those who are new to the game to quickly increase their skill and confidence. These opportunities include weekly clinics for adults, summer clinics for juniors, the PGA Junior League, etc., as well as private lessons. Ample practice facilities are available for game improvement including a driving range, multiple putting and chipping greens, practice bunkers and pitching areas.
The Canyon Club is open play for our members from Tuesday through Sunday all year around. As part of our mission to “Connect. Grow. Make a Difference.” we reserve Mondays for local charities and other organizations for fund-raising golfing events. The Canyon Club maintains a fleet of 60 electric golf carts to facilitate these events, as well as to provide golf transportation for those of our members and guests who choose not to walk the course.

The Canyon Club offers a number of ways for young golfers to learn the game, improve their skills, and compete against other junior golfers in a fun environment.
We offer several sessions of junior golf camp throughout the summer, ages 6 to 16. During each camp, we take each student from the green to the course. Learn how to practice productively, and improve basic fundamentals in all aspects of the game.
